Kia K5 GT-Line | 18x8 D21
If you’ve been paying attention to the car market, you know that Kia has come out swinging. In the last few years, Kia has been pumping out sports cars that are impossible to ignore. For example the Kia Stinger and the Kia K5. The K5 is their newest addition to the lineup…sort of. The K5 technically already existed, but under the Optima nametag. The point is Kia has elevated their presence in the car scene and enthusiasts are noticing. Kia is slowly establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with.
Don’t be fooled, the sports car aura this thing emits is serious. With this K5 being the GT-Line, the styling cues displayed throughout make it known that this car is the real deal. Believe it or not, the Korean sports car outperforms its Japanese counterparts. As soon as we saw this thing unveiled we knew we had to get our hands on one. Here at DRW, we aim to create wheel designs and fitments that not only look better than stock, but perform better. What defines better? A stronger and wider wheel capable of spirited driving.

With a car this size, you don’t want to go too big in diameter. It takes away from the overall aesthetic and performance. The K5 comes stock with a 18×7.5, and we mostly stayed true to that suggestion. This Kia is running our gloss black machined face D21 in an 18×8 wrapped in 235/45 Lexani tires. Only going half and inch in width doesn’t seem like a big deal, but it can make a world of difference. Especially since we went with a more aggressive tire tread pattern that promotes better handling characteristics compared to stock.
The Kia K5 was built for those looking to get into a real deal sports car without breaking the bank. Kia knew the Optima wasn’t going to cut it and made a bold move with the new K5. By upgrading wheel width and tread pattern, you can unlock hidden potential.
